The trip takes three days, to the Dream Jungle where your cousins, Mountain Gorillas seek refuge. The Mountain Gorillas are largest species of primates in the world. These can only be found in high altitude regions of the vast Virunga chain of mountains, which extends through Uganda, Rwanda, and Democratic Republic of Congo.

Most popular wildlife park in Rwanda, Volcanoes National Park features luxuriant flora, primates, and more. You may look forward to punctual meals, a wonderful road trip to the park, and more. The airport in Kigali, or any other location of your choosing, is where you will be picked up and dropped off. Being physically fit is advised because trekking requires walking.

Safari Details

Day 1: Pick-up and Transfer to Volcanoes NP

You’ll meet our driver guide for the trip to Volcanoes National Park when you arrive at Kigali International Airport. In order to advocate for an end to genocide activities, where approximately 25000 victims of the Tutsi and Hutu conflict were buried in 1994 and honored at Genocide Museum. You will visit as part of your city tour of Kigali, national Museum and the regional markets.

After lunch, we’ll explore the area around Kigali city before beginning the 2-4 hours’ stunning trip to Volcanoes National Park. The park’s access path is secure and features beautiful scenery, abundant greenery, and more. When you get there, have a relaxing meal at the lodge dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking

You will pick up your packed lunch, travel bags, and trekking documents at the lodge after an early breakfast before traveling to the park headquarters for a pre-trek briefing. During the briefing, the ranger guide will discuss the forest, the Gorillas that are unique to Africa, and other things that can be seen in the forest in addition to explaining the trekking dos and don’ts. Only those who are 15 years of age or older who are willing to walk for 1 to 6 hours, depending on how far the apes have traveled, are allowed to participate in the trekking exercise. Also, you will get the chance to see a variety of monkeys, birds, forest creatures, and other animals.

After finding the apes, you will spend an hour with the gorillas where you may take pictures and see how they interact, including the enormous silverback’s stance and the juvenile gorillas’ mutual admiration.

After one hour is up, you’ll head back to the resort for some refreshments, optional entertainment, dinner, and a restful snooze. In the forest, we have lunch.

Day 3: Return to Kigali. End of safari

After a restful night’s sleep and a delectable breakfast, you will check out of the lodge in order to take a transfer to Kigali City. It takes about two to three hours, during which time you will see stunning scenery, rich vegetation, and excited locals.

Have lunch in Kigali city, depending on the time of your flight, and purchase a few trinkets to take back home.

Detailed Trip

Day1: Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes national park

Your fast night will be spent at the Gorilla asylum in Volcanoes National Park on this day, which is your arrival day. You should be able to reward yourself with the first supper grown on Athousand Hills-Rwanda soil after meeting our safari guide. You will receive a trip briefing before setting out on a two-to-three-hour picturesque drive to volcanoes National Park. When you arrive at your lodge in the park, you will check in and then relax while you wait for lunch, optional evening activities, dinner, and a sound night’s sleep.

Day2: Gorilla trekking

An invigorating breakfast will be given at the lodge at dawn, followed by a transfer to the park’s administrative building for a pre-trek briefing. Depending on how far these monkeys have traveled, the trekking exercise lasts anywhere from one to six hours. Seeing the silverback with his family in their natural environment is an unforgettable experience. There is a good chance that you will spot rare plant species, primates like monkeys, and more on this walk through a sizable jungle. You will take a lunch break after you find the apes, then head back to the lodge for some refreshments, dinner, and the night.

Day3: Volcanoes National Park to Akagera National Park

You will welcome your intestine with a delicious cup of coffee when daybreak arrives. After that, you’ll head out on the road to Rwanda’s only savannah park, Akagera National Park. It is a three to five-hour picturesque trip across Rwanda’s undulating hills. You will arrive at your lodge, check in, then have lunch, a restful evening, dinner, and a sweet night’s sleep.

Day4: Game drive and Boat cruise

A sunrise breakfast will be served at the lodge this morning, followed by a 3–4-hour game drive through the expansive savannah park. Despite being Rwanda’s only savannah park, it has a wide variety of plants and animals. In addition to other animals, keep an eye out for lions, leopards, zebras, cape buffalo, African elephants, and more. Together with checking off the bird checklist, you’ll photograph the breathtaking scenery and take in the tranquil atmosphere.

Day5: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

You will depart for Nyungwe National Park after breakfast. This thrilling drive takes about 5 to 6 hours to complete, including a lunch stop along the way. Any further stops will only be made in locations that the driver’s guide thinks worthwhile of your time and experience. The road leading to the park is lined by sporadic homesteads, thriving plantations, and rolling hills. You will arrive to the lodge in the evening, check in, unwind, and wait for dinner before taking a siesta.

Day6: Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk

After breakfast, you will leave very early for a pre-tour briefing at the park headquarters. This session, which lasts for around 30 minutes, is conducted by an experienced ranger guide who goes over the dos and don’ts of hiking as well as ape behavior. Depending on your pace and how far the apes are, chimpanzee trekking takes 1 to 5 hours and is done on foot. These happy apes spend most of their time playing, skipping from one tree branch to another, creating unusual noises, and other activities. You will take pictures for an hour before taking a lunch break. After Lunch, there will be a 1–2-hour canopy walk experience. This canopy is rare and freely suspend on a forest

Day7: Deperture

You will say goodbye to Nyungwe National Park after a leisurely breakfast at the resort in order to catch your aircraft to Kigali. You will stop along the way to explore Rwandan culture at the palace of the Nyanza king. After that, a city tour and lunch will be in Kigali before you transfer to the airport there.

This will be a five-day travelogue about a trip to Rwanda, the magnificent “Land of a Thousand Hills.” Africa’s east is where Rwanda is situated. In the Republic of Rwanda, we take you for a wildlife encounter. Only three countries in the east and central Africa are home to the Mountain Gorilla species, which live around the vast Virunga chain of mountains. Gorilla trekking In Rwanda is in the northern location in Volcanoes National Park. The only savannah park in the nation, Akagera National Park, will be the location of the wildlife experience.

 You will do game drive, canoe ride, guided nature walk, and Gorilla trekking, well guide by our experienced guides. The republic of Rwanda is one of the safest countries in the continent of Africa, with hospitable people, cool climate and variety of flora and fauna. It is a road trip that begins and ends in Rwanda’s Kigali.

Detailed Trip

Day1: Pickup and transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Our knowledgeable driving guide will greet you today as you arrive in the Land of a Thousand Hills, offer you a drink of juice, and give you a rundown of what to expect throughout the safari. You will transfer to the national park that is home to the critically endangered mountain gorillas. The drive from Kigali Rwanda to Volcanoes national park takes you about 3-4 hours, while enjoying the beautiful views of the stunning landscape, lush vegetation, and more. You will arrive at the lodge for check-in and a late lunch. A cultural tour is then optional. You will spend time with the local Rwandese people before going back to the resort for dinner and the night.

Day2: Gorilla trekking

After breakfast, you will put on a trekking outfit, choose a packed lunch, gather your paperwork, and travel to the park’s administrative center for a crucial 30-minute gorilla pre-trek briefing. It’s time for the ranger guides to go over the dos and don’ts of trekking, talk about gorillas, and assign a gorilla group to track. If you didn’t already know, mountain gorillas are only found in Africa, and their genes are 98% identical to those of humans. A typical gorilla trip lasts between one and eight hours, adding an additional hour for photo opportunities and observing the silverback and his family interact, feed, and engage in other activities. You will spend an hour with the apes before returning to the lodge for refreshments, a light dinner, and the night.

Day3:  Transfer to Akagera National Park

You will have a leisurely breakfast at the lodge today, then at around noon, you will leave for Akagera National Park. The road is renowned for its stunning scenery, rolling hills, rich greenery, and more. When you arrive in the evening, you’ll check in at the lodge where you can relax, have dinner, and take a nap.

Day4: Game drive and boat cruise experience

Have a great cup of coffee to start the day. The next activity is a game drive, which takes about three to four hours. The ranger guide will aid in distinguishing the various park inhabitants by name, characteristic, sound, and color, including the lions, leopards, cape buffaloes, African elephants, zebras, impalas, rhinoceroses, and others. After the program, you will have a lunch break before enjoying a delectable lunch in the refreshing surroundings of nature.

You will travel to Twin Lake in the afternoon for a canoe ride with the locals. There, among other things, you can take a boat ride and hear the villagers’ stories. At dusk, dinner is served, and the day comes to an end.

Day5: Deperture

You will fill your tummies with a delectable breakfast dish at the lodge around dawn before traveling to your drop-off location. If your flight is running late, a lunchtime city tour of Kigali is a great option. At Kigali you will visit the Genocide memorial where over 2500 victims of the Hutu and Tutsi traditional conflicts where buried. The art and craft store will be the alternative location to purchase some mementos.

The occurrence of Covid-19 pandemic throughout the world in 2020 made it compulsory for most countries to only receive visitors who have covid- 19 vaccination certificates and hence this rule applies even in Uganda.

Other vaccination that tourists should get before coming to the country include the yellow fever vaccine (mandatory), malaria vaccine, and Hepatitis B.
