A unique and unforgettable experience, spending seven days traveling, doing things you wouldn’t normally do and visiting people’s dream locations, vacation time taken to a new experience. It’s amazing to be in Rwanda. With undulating hills, beautiful infrastructure, and more, it boasts a great landscape. While you explore the sights and activities in Rwanda, the road trip will take you to the country’s east, west, and northern regions. You will go on game drives and boat cruises in Akagera National Park, go gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park, go chimpanzee trekking and experience a canopy walk in Nyungwe National Park, among other activities. Both pick-up and drop-off will take place at the Kigali city/international airport.

Detailed Trip

Day1: Arrival and transfer to Volcanoes national park

Your fast night will be spent at the Gorilla asylum in Volcanoes National Park on this day, which is your arrival day. You should be able to reward yourself with the first supper grown on Athousand Hills-Rwanda soil after meeting our safari guide. You will receive a trip briefing before setting out on a two-to-three-hour picturesque drive to volcanoes National Park. When you arrive at your lodge in the park, you will check in and then relax while you wait for lunch, optional evening activities, dinner, and a sound night’s sleep.

Day2: Gorilla trekking

An invigorating breakfast will be given at the lodge at dawn, followed by a transfer to the park’s administrative building for a pre-trek briefing. Depending on how far these monkeys have traveled, the trekking exercise lasts anywhere from one to six hours. Seeing the silverback with his family in their natural environment is an unforgettable experience. There is a good chance that you will spot rare plant species, primates like monkeys, and more on this walk through a sizable jungle. You will take a lunch break after you find the apes, then head back to the lodge for some refreshments, dinner, and the night.

Day3: Volcanoes National Park to Akagera National Park

You will welcome your intestine with a delicious cup of coffee when daybreak arrives. After that, you’ll head out on the road to Rwanda’s only savannah park, Akagera National Park. It is a three to five-hour picturesque trip across Rwanda’s undulating hills. You will arrive at your lodge, check in, then have lunch, a restful evening, dinner, and a sweet night’s sleep.

Day4: Game drive and Boat cruise

A sunrise breakfast will be served at the lodge this morning, followed by a 3–4-hour game drive through the expansive savannah park. Despite being Rwanda’s only savannah park, it has a wide variety of plants and animals. In addition to other animals, keep an eye out for lions, leopards, zebras, cape buffalo, African elephants, and more. Together with checking off the bird checklist, you’ll photograph the breathtaking scenery and take in the tranquil atmosphere.

Day5: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

You will depart for Nyungwe National Park after breakfast. This thrilling drive takes about 5 to 6 hours to complete, including a lunch stop along the way. Any further stops will only be made in locations that the driver’s guide thinks worthwhile of your time and experience. The road leading to the park is lined by sporadic homesteads, thriving plantations, and rolling hills. You will arrive to the lodge in the evening, check in, unwind, and wait for dinner before taking a siesta.

Day6: Chimpanzee trekking and canopy walk

After breakfast, you will leave very early for a pre-tour briefing at the park headquarters. This session, which lasts for around 30 minutes, is conducted by an experienced ranger guide who goes over the dos and don’ts of hiking as well as ape behavior. Depending on your pace and how far the apes are, chimpanzee trekking takes 1 to 5 hours and is done on foot. These happy apes spend most of their time playing, skipping from one tree branch to another, creating unusual noises, and other activities. You will take pictures for an hour before taking a lunch break. After Lunch, there will be a 1–2-hour canopy walk experience. This canopy is rare and freely suspend on a forest

Day7: Departure

You will say goodbye to Nyungwe National Park after a leisurely breakfast at the resort in order to catch your aircraft to Kigali. You will stop along the way to explore Rwandan culture at the palace of the Nyanza king. After that, a city tour and lunch will be in Kigali before you transfer to the airport there.
