In this 3-day tour of Nyungwe National Park, one of Rwanda’s four national parks, you’ll go on an incredible safari adventure. From the beginning to the end of your safari adventure, our driver guide will be available to you. More than 13 primate species can be found in Nyungwe National Park, but chimpanzees, which share 98% of our DNA, are the dominant species. Other primates include olive baboons, greychecked monkeys, and white-and-black Columbus monkeys. You will also experience a spectacular canopy walk, one of its type in the eastern part of Africa. In the forest, the canopy is unrestrainedly suspended around 8 meters above the ground. You may view the spectacular scenery, the luxuriant forest cover, and more from the canopy. Time pickup, activities, and drop-off are handled by us.
Our safari guide will meet you at the pickup location and lead you to Rwanda, the “country of a thousand hills.” You will leave for Nyungwe National Park after receiving a briefing and drinking a glass of juice. En route, you will stop for lunch and at a few noteworthy sites. When you get there in the evening, you can check in and reenergize. You’ll finish the day with dinner and a restful nap around dusk.
Following a delicious breakfast at the lodge, you will go to the park’s administrative center for a pre-tour briefing. The ranger guides go over the dos and don’ts of trekking during the lesson, which lasts about 30 minutes. After that, the ranger guides will lead you to the Apes, which many people describe to as Man’s relatives because they share over 98% of our DNA. On good days, you can spot various plants, chimpanzee nests, birds, and forest creatures during this trek in the forest.
Depending on how far the apes have traveled, chimpanzee trekking lasts anywhere from one to four hours. When you find them, enjoy the chimpanzees’ sounds and social interactions. Chimpanzees make over 25 unique sounds, with each a forgettable. They also have some rare attics, and human like behaviors such as feeding using sticks as folks. After spending an hour with them, you’ll have lunch and then go on a 2- to 3-hour canopy walk in the evening. After dinner, retire for the night.
After savoring a delectable breakfast meal at the lodge, you check out and leave for Kigali, Rwanda. You’ll make a stop at the palace of the Nyanza king for a traditional experience. After that, you’ll pay a visit to the Genocide Memorial to learn more about the more than 25000 Hutu and Tutsi who perished as a result of intercultural violence. After having lunch in the city, you will be driven to the airport to catch your flight to the next location.
